Performance and Live Art has its origin from an environment, which aimed to communicate at the edge of a definition. The expression is constantly innovating and this sometimes complicates it’s relationship to the stabile i.e. Art institutions. The way the expression and the changing scenes and locations have been mediated internationally is through a group of artists and their active networks. By creating a node for these activities the work may become more visible. By offering a structure for networks one may also offer a reference for experiencing art in untraditional places and time frames. Performance and Live Art is willingly changing form and definitions such as- action art, relational art, living image, live-visual art etc creates a need to discuss and perhaps invent new terms and notions. Being the initiator of this website we do not wish to define what performance art is or should be but rather create a place where these discussions might take place and for its users to refer to history and context. Though the greatest motive is to make visible the work that is created in our contemporary time. New work by solo artist and groups that are not established and exploring relations to traditional forms. We wish to give practising artists, critics and people that are interested a mutual tool. An interactive meeting place where we can illustrate activity and hopefully demonstrate tendencies in the now. There is also an aim to highlight Nordic references to be able to generate and contribute with specific references to an international debate hopefully beyond the cultural and geographical notions we first set our focus on.
