Rita works with performance as an art form focusing on challenging questions related to gender and identity. Marhaug has amongst other things chosen to experiment with these questions by involving her own children in particular stage productions. In her direct contact with the audience there is an underlying desire to communicate her work but also to provide the on-looker with a challenge –allow the art work to step into an active existence.
